It’s OK, I’m With the Band

Loudoun County Farm Tour Weekend is here and we are going to have a great time out here at Fabbioli Cellars. We are even having some great live music (didn’t Doug say he would never do that?). Remember, I am not Bill Graham, but these folks, Soul Expressions, are great. An eclectic mix of musicians comes together to form this energetic, stylistic and artistic band. We have a number of vendors along with Mom’s Pies and the wood fired pottery of Shawn and Brian. Remember, we are open on Sunday this weekend, so stop by and take advantage of our eighth day of the week.

Been busy?
It is a good thing I am healthy again. Vineyard needs spraying again. Weeds are growing. Caterpillars are eating all of the trees and new veggie plants. Ryan and Dennis are fixing the stuff that Doug breaks. Colleen is holding down the house and the Tasting room. We need to cut the grass again? More emails to answer. Doug Caldwell is back and selling hard. We have another tasting and chance to meet a few more folks. Order the packaging materials for next month’s bottling. Start pumping wine out next week. Don’t forget the clients. Sevi and the crew need more Gripples for the trellis in the new vineyard. Isi is moving more wine in DC and starting on Montgomery County. There is a festival in two weeks, all hands on deck. Receipts, licenses, awards, group visits, meetings, farmers markets, associations… Wow! I got tired just thinking about it. Why do we do this again? Oh yeah… the lifestyle. I would never trade it!

May 22 Winemaker Dinner at One Block West in Winchester. Ed is booking and cooking as this will be a great event.

June 4 Winemaker Dinner at American Flatbread in Ashburn. Meaghan and I are getting together to plan something fun and special that fits each of our styles. Stay tuned for a great menu and evening.
