Dear Friends,
Harvest is coming to a close. All of
the fruit is in and the fruit flies are buzzing all around in the
cellar. We should have all the grapes pressed off next week. I will
be using a shoehorn to fit the barrels into the cellar.
Wine Update:
Many of you know that our Raspberry Merlot sold out at the VA Wine
Festival a few weeks ago. Not to fear. Next month, we will be bottling
the Raspberry and the 2005 Cabernet Sauvignon that we have been tasting
from the barrel a few times. The Raspberry Merlot will be at the Mom’s
Apple Pie tasting for your holiday needs. There is no label on the
Cab Sauv at this point but we will have it for the spring. The 2004
Tre Sorelle is almost gone. The 2005 Tre Sorelle is tasting great
even though it is still young. The 2005 Fratelli is maturing quite
well. This is a great holiday wine, especially with a traditional
turkey or the revolutionary turducken.
Purchasing Update:
I signed on a distributor to wholesale the Fabbioli wines. Mike Wollard
is the owner operator of Commonwealth Wines out of Charlottesville.
You may have heard me speak of our state politicians and the arrangement
they have with the distributors. Mike is a real person doing a real
job helping the VA wine industry move product and stay within the
law. He is working with me to help spread the Fabbioli wines to a
few more shops for you folks to visit. Please pass me the info on
any shops or restaurants that might be interested. As the vineyard
needs less attention now, I can set my sights on the market.
Other Stuff:
Mom’s Apple Pie Shop was featured on the Food Network with some
of their famous pies. Raspberry Merlot was featured with it. The interest
from this has prompted us to get website purchasing up and running.
This should be working very soon. Watch out cyberspace, old school
Fabbioli is stepping up another notch.
