Fabbioli Cellars of Leesburg and Middleburg’s Cana Winery wooed some of the most prominent wine experts in the D.C. region in this year’s Loudoun Wine Awards.
Loudoun wines made up more than one-fifth of the 38 selections earning gold in the annual contest, the judging for which wrapped up last weekend. The 38 gold medal honorees were selected among 432 wines from 95 wineries entered into this year’s competition. All the wines consist of 100 percent Virginia fruit.
There are no stale, flavorless crackers that remind you of grandma’s house at Fabbioli Cellars to accompany your wine tasting. Instead, tasters are presented with a gourmet nibble to accompany seven wines.
